One more note for all your non-US followers. Many of the sites that pay contributors only accept US residents as writers. Suite101 (based in Vancouver) is open to anyone. Demand Studios recently welcomed UK and Canadian writers. So, if you don't have the Stars and Stripes flying at your local post office, check a site first before you begin the sometimes laborious process of applying. Cheers!

Hi Shaun -- that is the rule for many places, links can only go in the author profile or sometimes in the article's resource box. Some limit to one link, others to two. I write for eZineArticles and Examiner. Exminer is more generous with their link policy than some sites.

Bloggers need to check the terms of service for each directory before choosing which is best for their purposes, but even one inbound link from a PR 7 site, such as Suite101, is a good quality backlink.
